Ready for the Xavier's Admission Test 2013? The upcoming MBA entrance exam has introduced a General Awareness section. Students who are preparing for the forthcoming XAT, one of the prestigious MBA entrance examinations in India, should be aware about the new changes in the question paper. XAT 2013 will have a General Awareness section. This time, the question paper is divided in two parts and the duration is 3 hours. 

 First Part
Students have to solve the first part in 2 hours and 20 minutes. It will include questions on Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Logical Reasoning (LR), Data Interpretation (DI), Analytical Reasoning (AR), Decision Making (DM) and Verbal Ability (VA).
Further, the First Part is divided into three sections. Around 85-95 questions will be included in the first part. 

  Second Part 
In the second part, students will have questions on General Awareness and Essay Writing. In 40 minutes duration, students will have to cover this section. The questions on General Awareness will be around 20-30 in number. The topics included in the general awareness questions will be from Economics and Politics, and the present business environment.

How to prepare for the general awareness section
Candidates are advised to read the business newspapers and magazines. Newspapers such as The Economic Times, Mint, Business week and Hindu Business Line will be of great help to students preparing for XAT 2013. Not only these reading resources provide about the current happenings of business world in India and world, the print publications also have sections on political news.

A word of advice to students gearing for the upcoming exam: 
While reading about business happenings, try to gather information about the brands, taglines of major India and global companies, business books and common terms related to business, economics, and banking and finance.
