One more day added to CAT 2012 schedule


CAT (common admission test), the prestigious entrance examination for admissions to MBA colleges in India has added one more day to their online testing period. CAT 2012, the online test for this year is scheduled on October 11, 2012n and will continue until November 6, 2012. As against 21 days test period, one day more is added to this test. The CAT organizers have asked candidates to register early for this year online CAT to avoid any last minute gaffe. Registering early will also help candidates with preferred choice of location, time and date.

Adding a day more to 2012 schedule of CAT was result of a survey. A private firm took feedback from students and stakeholders alike. This survey helped in reviewing the internal process. The CAT organizers tried to made possible change after naming a conclusion of the feedback received by students. There are no extras changes done to the CAT schedule besides adding one extra day. CAT 2012 timings and question pattern will be the same as last year.

Earlier CAT was a pen and paper based examination. With the introduction of online mode of examination, there were minor glitches. This year organizers are trying to make the entire test period smooth and error free. One of the organizers said this year’s CAT is organized in multiple venues across various cities of India. With thousands of computers installed, there are times when minor hardware problems arise. However, the organizers are trying to select venues, which have required technical and physical infrastructure.

Cat takers with high scores are eligible for admissions in reputed MBA colleges of India. Admissions to IIMs, and other top ranked B-schools are through CAT.
