According to education experts in India, there are many new emerging fields, which are opening in the country. This is making Engineering Colleges introduce new courses in India. Students who want a career in engineering can select one according to aptitude and interest.
One of the reputed researcher and professor, Sanjay Gupta addressed a seminar on new and emerging careers explained about the new courses. The educational seminar was held at Chandigarh and the main topic of discussion was new careers in emerging fields of engineering. Sanjay Gupta told the members attending the seminar that students should select the engineering courses based on their interest levels and not because they are in demand.
According to him, the year 2012 promises to be a good year for engineering aspirants as new fields are coming up. Students should select courses after doing a research about them, whether they are according to their liking and aptitude. There are many courses, which are newly introduced, but students should check the career options before applying for them.
He opined that the next step for students is to select creditable educational institutions. There are hundreds of Engineering Colleges in the country. Students should be careful while finalizing the courses. Students should check colleges, which can boost one’s career. According to Sanjay Gupta, choice of an institution makes a lot of difference to one’s career.
He further stressed the importance of research-based learning.  He promoted the fact those higher institutions, which have undergraduate level courses should focus on practical learning along with concept based classes. Prof. Gupta advised engineering aspirant students to join institutions in the country that gives importance to research and learning. This way on completion of the courses, they will have an advantage when they enter the job market.
