Career options after BSc Maths



Graduation is the first step which introduces a student to college life, the fun and the hard work associated with it. A student always aspires to get graduated from a reputed university, and go for higher studies further on the basis of performance in the undergraduate courses. Other than performance, the interest of the students also plays a significant role in choosing the course for higher studies. Among many other subjects, Maths Honours, BA Maths or BSc Maths is one subject which is largely preferred by students at the undergraduate level. Universities like Delhi University, Anna University Chennai, Nirma University, Kurukshetra University, Punjab University, etc provide bachelor courses Mathematics. Students applying for undergraduate courses in Maths are required to have excellent marks in Maths in their 12th result. The admission of the student also depends on the cut off list issued by the colleges of India.
There are a number of career options, which a student can choose after completing his undergraduate studies in Maths. Few of them are discussed below:
Career in accounting and finance:
Students with commerce background or ones interested in the finance field can opt for this. Doing a degree in MBA in finance, accountancy or CA would help them make their dream come true.
Banking sector:
Students can apply for the banking exams and save a seat for themselves in one of the reputed banks of India.
Actuarial sciences or career in statistics:
There are post graduate courses in the field of actuarial sciences and statistics, which would help the students in landing to the job of their interest.
MBA in Marketing:
Marketing is another field which is easily approachable by a Maths graduate. By doing an MBA in marketing will help him take a tour of the marketing tactics and the requirements, which he would be able to use in his future job.
Apart from the above mentioned options, there are many opportunities which can be chosen by a student depending on the background subjects of the students at their senior secondary level.
