A quick review on the engineering exams in India



Engineering is one of the top most respected and valued courses in India. Many students after giving their 12th board exams start preparing for the engineering entrances. To be on the safer side, students fill the form for more than 4-5 entrance tests. Mostly all the exams are conducted at the all India level because of which the competition is very tough. Therefore, the students are advised to fill at least four to five entrance forms to get the surety of getting admission in any one. The application dates for most of the entrance tests have gone. Following are few of the top Engineering Colleges entrance tests with their dates and last date for the availability of the application form which can still be filled.

Banasthali Vidyapeeth
Last date of submission- 16- May- 2012
Exam date: 3rd June
Result: still to be announced 

BITS Dubai
Last date of submission- 15th June
No entrance test
CIPET- Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology
Last date of submission- 10th June
Exam date- 8th July

Delhi Technical University
The procedure for admission will start from 7th June on the basis of the student’s rank in AIEEE
IcfaiTech 

Last date of filling the application form: 18th June

Selection would depend on the student’s result in AIEEE or any state exam plus 75% marks in 12th board exams. 

One can find a number of affiliated engineering colleges in Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune or engineering colleges in Kolkata. But, for all of them the students have to work very hard. All the above mentioned colleges are worldly renowned and gives a great start to the student’s career. Though, most of the colleges provide admission on the basis of rank in AIEEE or other state exams. But, there are few other universities which conduct their own entrance test and provide admission to students on the basis of same. So, the fact is if you want to become an engineer you will have to go through toughest of the entrances and earn a seat in the industry.
