Examine your Strengths and Weaknesses

 First, do a careful study of your performance in the various CAT mock tests undertaken. Assess the areas in which you have scored well or section where you are weak. For example, you may be good in geometry problems but is struggling with algebra-based questions. Revise the fundamentals and make sure you are not failing in getting them wrong. About two weeks are left, you can still manage to grasp over your weak areas

CAT Examination 2012

CAT is the most prestigious B-school entrance examination in India. Aspiring MBA students wish to bell the CAT to get admissions to some of the best MBA colleges in the country.  A survey conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council pointed the reason for the increased demand in management education. There has been a renewed growth in study of business management education in India and across the world. This survey is conducted every year and reflects the changes in study preferences related to management education. For 2012, there is inclination towards master’s programs with specialization in finance, accounting and management. There is an overall improvement in the MBA program.

Common Admission Test and gives entry to reputed MBA colleges in India. The CAT board told that like last 2011, the 2012 examination paper consist two sections. Aspirants have to be proficient in computers as this is a computer-based exam. The sections of CAT 2012 will be of 1 hour and 10 minutes duration. Both the sections will have 30 questions. The sections will have questions on Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation.

Lovely Professional University’s 2nd ALUMNI Reunion

Lovely Professional University, better known as LPU organized its 2nd ALUMNI Reunion. Around 2000 alumni participated in the reunion party. Students from previous batches joined with their families connected with their friends and fellow mates.

Students of LPU are now working with reputed companies and many are even settled aboard. The Alumni said that Lovely Professional University was instrumental in shaping their careers so well. Many shared their rich experiences they had during their study years at LPU. The teaching and faculty’s impact cannot be negated and the alumni told the audience present about the impact it had on their careers. 

The Alumni reunion party had cultural activities. Besides these, the reunion saw recognizing some of the Alumni members. Priya Malik, Founder and CEO of the company Finesse was announced Alumni of the Year. This reunion party saw alumni of LPU attending from every sector. Some of them were from INFOSYS, TCS, NOKIA, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, SEIMENS, and other reputed organizations. 

The LPU’s 2nd ALUMNI Reunion started with the traditional Indian way of lighting of the lamp. The present Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal addressed the audience. He said that he is proud to say that LPU has produced some of the best students in the country. The alumini from Lovely Professional University are engaged in good positions in public and private sector companies. He further added that university is doing well and keeping with the standards it has set up.

Teachers Day for one and all!!

After parents, teacher is the person who is responsible for shaping the character and future of a student. From pre- school, to secondary and higher schooling to college, we all are highly dependent on our teachers for anything and everything we aim to learn at different stages of life. Not only the professional growth, a teacher is very much accountable for the personal growth and the kind of person one becomes at the end. Today, on Teacher’s Day, I am sure each one of you would be thankful to all your teachers for the contribution they made towards the accomplishment of your success.

Gaining education, going to college or school are not the only places or mediums we get to meet teachers. In fact, in offices or in our personal life we come across people who impart valuable knowledge and ideologies in our life and pave a happy and successful path for our future. It can be our boss in office, a colleague at work or your life partner. So, at every step in life you should be ready to gain knowledge and values from people around. Age or experience doesn’t matter, if someone is telling you good things, you must be ready to grab it!

Most of all, your mother is the person who is best teacher in your life. The role she plays in our life is unmatchable and immeasurable. She is a friend, a teacher, a guardian and a fighter. Therefore, before thanking anybody else, we must thank our mother for all the support, care, teachings, values, and love she has given us in all these years. Respect, love, positive gestures and warmth are the only gifts a mother would expect from her children, so never ever take all this from her and express your gratitude to her as and when possible.

One more day added to CAT 2012 schedule

CAT (common admission test), the prestigious entrance examination for admissions to MBA colleges in India has added one more day to their online testing period. CAT 2012, the online test for this year is scheduled on October 11, 2012n and will continue until November 6, 2012. As against 21 days test period, one day more is added to this test. The CAT organizers have asked candidates to register early for this year online CAT to avoid any last minute gaffe. Registering early will also help candidates with preferred choice of location, time and date.

Adding a day more to 2012 schedule of CAT was result of a survey. A private firm took feedback from students and stakeholders alike. This survey helped in reviewing the internal process. The CAT organizers tried to made possible change after naming a conclusion of the feedback received by students. There are no extras changes done to the CAT schedule besides adding one extra day. CAT 2012 timings and question pattern will be the same as last year.

Earlier CAT was a pen and paper based examination. With the introduction of online mode of examination, there were minor glitches. This year organizers are trying to make the entire test period smooth and error free. One of the organizers said this year’s CAT is organized in multiple venues across various cities of India. With thousands of computers installed, there are times when minor hardware problems arise. However, the organizers are trying to select venues, which have required technical and physical infrastructure.

Cat takers with high scores are eligible for admissions in reputed MBA colleges of India. Admissions to IIMs, and other top ranked B-schools are through CAT.
