Humanities Courses in Engineering Colleges

Popularly known as the cultural capital of India, Kolkata is home to some of the oldest educational institutions of the country. Among all the professional courses that students opt for, engineering has a huge demand. Also termed as the educational capital of the country, there are several engineering colleges in Kolkata
.
One of the oldest engineering colleges in the country, Bengal Engineering and Science University, opened its doors to the discipline of Humanities and Human Resource Management. The establishment of the Department of Humanities in 1945 echoed a holistic and pragmatic approach to engineering education in modern era. This step was taken in order to train engineers in every aspect; for once they step out into the real world, apart from being a subject expert, they are expected to have good communication skills and a better understanding of the society and economy. Possessing managerial skills along with soft skills is an added advantage. Once they are equipped with both, a degree and the required soft skills, they are sure to excel in the corporate world.

The department operates with the objective of carrying out meaningful research and teaching useful courses. The syllabi of these courses have been developed keeping in mind the latest developments in each subject that suits the students of engineering. The course looks forward to a comprehensive coverage.

The establishment of the Human Resource Management was another step that BE College took in order to well equip their students. A rare activity, the course on human resource management follows a comprehensive syllabus that helps students to develop an all- round personality and prepares them to face the real world.

BE College is one of the rare engineering colleges in Kolkata to have come up with a unique idea as this and the course is attracting more students with each passing year.
