New departments to be added in IIT Kahargpur

The top most and the oldest engineering institute of India, IIT Kharagpur, is all set to add eight more departments in its campus. These departments aim to make the country more of technology independent and create more awareness about the new techniques. The proposal has been sent to the ministry and as soon it gets approved, these departments would soon get established in the institute. There are a number of engineering colleges in Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc but IITs are the most reputed and renowned engineering colleges across the country. Students work very hard to get admission into any of the Indian Institute of Technology. Departments to be added in the IIT, Kharagpur, are:

·         Energy Science and Engineering Department
·         Biosciences Department
·         Engineering Entrepreneurship
·         Environmental Engineering Department
·         Nano science and Technology Department
·         Engineering Design and Manufacturing Department
·         Embedded Electronics Controls and Software Department

Researches to take place in these departments would be totally new of their kind and have never been carried out anywhere else in the country. This would give new experience to the students and would decrease India’s dependence on foreign countries in terms of technology aid. Engineering degrees can be taken from a number of engineering colleges in Kolkata, engineering colleges in Hyderabad or universities like Delhi Technical University, Indraprastha University. Almost every city in India has colleges providing engineering courses but, still students work day and night to become a part of IIT. Also, they travel to distant cities having IIT to pursue their studies. Joining an IIT takes the hell out of a student and many of them can also be seen taking coaching classes from Akash, FITJEE, etc.

If the proposal gets a green light then the students studying in IIT Kharagpur would surely get to experience a whole new world.
